The Safari, Done Properly

South Africa's Finest Reserves, One Concierge

A luxury safari in South Africa is not a package off a shelf. The difference between a good trip and the trip of a lifetime is the right reserve, the right lodge and the right guide, with someone watching every detail between Cape Town and the bush.

Our team has spent years placing guests in the country's leading private game reserves, from the leopard country of the Sabi Sand and the great elephant herds of the Greater Kruger to the malaria free reserves of Madikwe and the Eastern Cape. We hold close relationships and preferred rates with the lodges we trust, and we skip the ones we don't.

And because most South African journeys begin or end in Cape Town, we can fold your villa, flights, chauffeurs and restaurant bookings into the same plan, or design the bush on its own. Either way you have one itinerary, one point of contact and one invoice in rand, with no surprises.

Good to Know

Luxury Safari FAQs

When is the best time for a luxury safari in South Africa?

Game viewing peaks in the dry winter months, from May to September, when the bush is thin and animals gather at water. Cape Town is at its best from November to March, which is why many guests pair a summer villa stay with a safari reached by a short flight. We always plan around your dates rather than a fixed season.

Can we do a malaria free safari with children?

Yes. Madikwe Game Reserve and the Eastern Cape private reserves such as Kwandwe and Shamwari are completely malaria free and offer Big Five game viewing with lodges that welcome families, private vehicles and guiding designed for children.

How do we get from Cape Town to the safari reserves?

Direct scheduled flights connect Cape Town with Skukuza and Hoedspruit for the Sabi Sand and Greater Kruger, with light air charter for the final leg where needed. Eastern Cape reserves are a short flight to Gqeberha followed by a road transfer we arrange door to door.

How many nights should we spend on safari?

Three to four nights at one lodge is ideal, giving you six or more game drives without making the itinerary feel rushed. For longer trips we combine two contrasting reserves, or add the Winelands or Garden Route along the way.

What does a luxury safari in South Africa cost?

Private reserve lodges start from around R10,000 per person per night at excellent family friendly properties, while the famous flagship lodges range from roughly R15,000 to R35,000 and beyond, fully inclusive of game drives, meals and most drinks. Our sample itineraries start from around R57,000 per person sharing including flights and transfers, and every quote is built for your party and dates in ZAR.

Can you combine our villa stay and safari on one itinerary?

That is exactly what we do. One team plans the villa, the safari, the flights and every transfer between them, giving you one itinerary, one point of contact and one invoice.
