Chef assistants start from R1,725. Rates exclude ingredients, and your concierge confirms a final quote based on your dates, group size and menu.
Are ingredients included in the chef's rate?
No - quoted rates cover the chef's time and expertise. Ingredients are purchased separately so you only pay for what you choose. Your chef plans the menu with you in advance and arranges the shopping before each meal.
Can the chef cater for dietary requirements?
Yes. Vegetarian, vegan, halaal-friendly, gluten-free and allergy-aware menus are all part of normal menu planning. Share your requirements when you enquire and the menu is built around them.
Can I hire a private chef for a dinner party?
Yes - a private chef for a dinner party is one of our most popular requests. The chef plans a multi-course menu with you, shops fresh, cooks at the villa and leaves the kitchen spotless. Add waiters or a mixologist for larger gatherings and your concierge will coordinate the whole evening.
How far in advance should I book a private chef?
As early as you can, especially for December and January when Cape Town's festive season is at its busiest. Public holidays are charged at time and a half, and Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day at double time.
Does the chef travel to villas outside central Cape Town?
Yes. A travel cost of R200 to R500 per day applies depending on the area, and for outlying areas staff accommodation may be required. Your concierge includes any travel costs in your quote upfront.
What is the difference between a private chef and a chef assistant?
The private chef designs and runs your menu; a chef assistant supports with preparation, plating and clean-up, or covers simpler single meals on their own. Assistants are a cost-effective way to extend service for larger groups.
