Noordhoek is a laid back seaside town overlooking the beautiful long, sandy Noordhoek Beach, popular among walkers, surfers and horse riders. The Noordhoek valley remains one of Cape Town’s treasured destinations, providing a rural atmosphere and rustic surroundings, mountain ranges and vast wetlands. A wide range of activities and accommodation is offered in Noordhoek.
Horse riding on the expansive white sand beach is a popular activity for Noordhoek locals and travellers alike. Possibly the greatest appeal for travellers to Noordhoek is the quiet, charming atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Access to Noordhoek from Cape Town is via either of two spectacular scenic passes; Chapman’s Peak Drive or via the Old Cape Road past Silvermine. The prized wetland behind the Noordhoek beach contains rare lowland Fynbos and is of such significance that the area has been incorporated into the Table Mountain Nature Park to prevent development.
