After an impromptu afternoon of gallivanting around the original homestead of Franschhoek Bliss, surveying the land that nestles itself at the foot of the Franschhoek mountains, the owners – without even leaving the vehicle for fear of being mauled by a ferocious resident hound – purchased the property and set their hearts on restoring the late 18th Century barn and its stables, to the contemporary architectural masterpiece it is now.
